Gratitude

What brought me to meet this family 3 years ago was a life-changing experience they went through that had them fear for their lives. I imagine they thought they would never see each other again.

Have you ever felt that before and after surviving it, realize even more so how precious time is? I think I have, in a slow unraveling that allowed me to process my gratitude for the time I have better. When I think about what they went through, I tend to soften and be better in the moments with my husband and kids, but even more so with my siblings, cousins, aunts, and uncles. I tend to laugh out loud more, living in the experience of being with them.

While this post is coming a few years after this session, updating my website had me looking back at some of my favorite sessions. Not only am I proud of these images, I'm humbled their story with me allowing me to lean into their incredible gratitude for each other.
