Vacation.

If you can believe it, vacation time is around the corner. There's ski week, spring or Easter break, and a couple national holidays before our beaches get packed with visitors during summer break. I completely understand being at the mercy of school and sports schedules before planning the best time for a family vacation. I'm sure the wait of your destination is totally worth it for kids and parents alike! For my family, we try to squeeze in a getaway every free chance we get knowing our kids will soon grow up. This reality brings literal tears to our eyes! Thankfully, we have camera phones and incredible DSLRs to capture these precious and fleeting times, right?

While these conveniences are wonderful for capturing our moments in-between, my most favorite souvenir from our getaways is booking a photographer local to the area to capture some photos of us against beautiful backdrops 2.0 ready. Meaning hair and makeup fresh with somewhat coordinated outfits. This also alleviates one IMPORTANT thing...that I can actually focus on moments with my family and NOT on whether or not we are framed correctly in the shot, if our timer is running correctly, if my exposure is right, etc. etc. etc. In fact, I share some of my absolute favorites from recent trips on my Instagram because I share about how every family should book a photographer while on vacation. In fact, if you need a referral, message me!

So you can imagine how excited I get when someone takes my advice...and books me! It is always such a pleasure to meet couples and families visiting from all over the country, and even the world. What I find true for all of these families is they want their experience of visiting captured to keep and share in the years to come. (As a mom, I appreciate not having another photo of me on vacation with my hair in a bun!) It's my honor and privilege to be able to tell their stories.

To kick off 2022 I had the privilege of meeting this sweet family re-visiting from out of California. Thank you for allowing me to capture your experience in one of my favorite San Diego neighborhoods, Coronado Island. I, too, have some pretty fantastic memories of this great spot dating back to my high school days, which helped me so much in planning their location. Take a scroll to see how much fun they had during their visit!
